Walking in the woods

On my daily walk, I often listen to books on my phone. It’s a pretty great way to exercise while being entertained — I generally listen to fiction although I am also a fan of podcasts. But lately, as I tune in more frequently to reiki energy, I choose to connect to the world and not escape it, at least not quite so much. I have been turning off the audio book for at least part of my walk. A lot of lovely things happen in the woods that I simply did not notice in such detail before. I watch the squirrels’ antics, note the daddy long legs crossing the trail. An occasional fox will dart through the woods. And depending on the time of day, at least one family of deer.

Consider spending more time outside connecting with Mother Earth. Become more aware of how lovely it is to just be. To listen to the birds, to inhale the forest scents, and to hear the crunch of leaves.
